About the job

About who needs care: She is recovering from being in the hospital April 27th to May 7th. She walks with an upright walker but is a high fall risk so she cannot be left alone. She falls backwards. She can dress herself for the most part, wears depends and goes to the bathroom when she remembers or feels an urgency to go. She can feed herself but cannot stand long enough to cook a meal. We help her get into the tub for a bath which she can pretty much bath herself but we do help with her hair and remind her to use soap on the wash cloth. She loves to craft and sew but has not done any of that in a while. About the care needs: We need a caregiver who will be able to determine that she can 80% of the things she does or needs to do by herself and that she needs just a little help without doing everything for her. She needs to be reminded and encouraged to do her exercises and drink her water. She will sleep all morning into the afternoon of you let her or after she has been up she will try to go back to bed. She cannot do either. She can nap while sitting on the sofa but only one nap for no longer than 2 hours. So the caregiver will need to be someone who is comfortable with saying to her you can do that for yourself or let me see you really try to do that first. Then help her if they feel that she really does need help. She can manipulate someone if they let her. Dont get me wrong she can be the sweetest person in the world but if she can get by with not doing for herself and get someone to do it for her she will do just that! Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
