About the job

About who needs care: He is retired Air Force and loves to talk about his time in the military! He walks with a walker. He has an indwelling catheter with a leg bag that he knows how to empty. However, he has a new diagnosis of dementia and short term memory loss. He has a pretty long list of other diagnoses, as well. He does have home health that comes multiple times per week, but he is at a point where he has to have someone in the house with him at all times. He will need help with cooking lunch and dinner. Some light cleaning around the house, like keeping the dishes washed, trash taken out, and laundry. He is adamant that he wants to stay home and not in a facility so we are trying our hardest to keep him home. Life is super busy with three kids at home and we are not able to be there all the time. About the care needs: We are looking for someone who is respectful, patient, and kind. Someone who doesn't mind listening as he loves to talk. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
