About dads needs: 12-15 hrs a month. More if I'm out of town. Afternoon/evening hours. He gets sundowners syndrome. The facility is short staffed and I need a closer eye on dad because he exhibits exit seeking behavior when he sundowns. The hours listed are suggested. Time/days are flexible. Dad has moderate-late cognitive impairment. Suggested activities would be reminiscing about his life. He has several photo albums. He loves to talk about his pilot days when he owned a small airplane. Currently he's isolating in his apartment unless encouraged to walk. Preferably someone with experience in dementia. I am a Registered Nurse and will train the right person. Must pass background check. About the care needs: A caring engaging person with attention to detail and ability to distract and keep him safe. Dependability is a must.
