About the job

About who needs care: Brain damage from a car accident 20 years ago has atrophied his leg and hand muscles. he can walk with a walker, or use a wheel chair. He is mostly independent but needs encouraging to keep a steady pace. Needs meals prepped but is more than capable of feeding himself. Can do 80% of personal hygiene himself. Needs help with medical topical creams applied. Can use restroom himself, but has the occasional accident does't make it in time, or misses his aim). Needs clothes laid out, bed made, and any other personal assistance. He is smart and funny, just talks slower. About the care needs: Patience is a must. Willing to lead/encourage is essential. No special skills. Willing to help him, and do his share of things he can't help with. There is down time. there are 2 postings 7-10 or 11 a.m. and 6-10 p.m. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
