About who needs care: My parents, both in their late 70s in Western Shawnee. Neither are in the best of health. Dad has Parkinson's and some other things and is tired A LOT. He is weak and cant really drive. He would like someone to drive him to his Parkinson's exercise class twice a week. My mom takes care of him but she has her own health problems and does not have the energy to do everything. I am their daughter. I cannot help as much as I would like - making meals, going to the store, changing the sheets, basic housekeeping. They are nice people - no swearing. No smoking. No drinking. Decent people who need a decent person to help them out on a regular basis. About the care needs: A kind person with a good heart. (I know that sounds corny). Someone RELIABLE and honest. My dad loves to talk about cars. My mom loves crafts but isnt well enough to do them much anymore. They are both from Colorado and miss it quite a bit, so anyone who can talk about Colorado a little bit would be a bonus! This would be a great fit for a stay at home parent whose kids are in school during the day. My parents love babies so I am willing to bet they would be fine if their caregiver brought their little person with them! (Just a thought). Really need someone who does not smoke. And someone patient, understanding and displays respect and empathy. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
