About the job

I am a 51-year-old male who has been a C5-C6 quadriplegic since December 1990, following an auto accident that left me paralyzed. I live in my own handicapped-accessible home in Yorkville with my parents, who have been my primary caregivers since the accident. My parents are retired and serve as my full-time caregivers; however, as they enter their late 70s, I realize I need to assist them by exploring the possibility of finding additional help. Currently, I am seeking someone available around 11:00 a.m. on weekdays to assist me in getting into my wheelchair. This includes dressing me, transferring me into the wheelchair, and assisting with bathroom tasks like washing my hair and brushing my teeth. If we work well together, there may be more hours available throughout the day.
