About who needs care: My father in law has liver cancer, diabetes and systemic problems from both of the above. We are needing a personal health aide to be here when we cant. Hes at the point with his illness that we feel he shouldnt be left alone. He doesnt require too much, he walks with a walker, really only leaves his recliner to walk to the bathroom. He does need help bathing, dressing, occasionally needs help in the bathroom but not often, meal prep, light cleaning- his bedroom and bath, kitchen and living area, light laundry, etc. We have his meds in a daily planner so all youd have to do is give him the cup filled with his pills. Most important to us is to find someone who is caring and patient but also dependable to show up on time when scheduled. Gene is a veteran and an awesome person. He lives alone but as stated, no longer needs to be left alone. This is due to his declining health and being at risk of falling when on his way to the bathroom. He basically gets up in the morning and goes to his recliner in the LVRM and stays there watching TV or playing on his phone until bed time. About the care needs: We are looking for a dependable person who is caring, compassionate and patient with the elderly. Nursing license not required but certification in home health aide care, CPR or equivalent certifications are accepted. We would like someone with verifiable experience with other seniors. Skills needed will include taking blood pressure, pulse ox, and sticking finger for blood glucose test ( Gene does not have to take insulin). Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
