About the job

About who needs care: Looking to hire a caring, capable, and conscientious caretaker to help support my 92-year-old Grandmother, Alberta. She is friendly, a nature lover, grew up as a tom boy in Kansas farm country, she likes to talk and also can be introverted and loves to read. She lives alone in an apartment on the north side of town and has serious short and long term memory loss, is slowly losing her sight, hearing, and mobility. She easily gets confused, disoriented, and paranoid when shes on her own and needs help with orientation to time. She also needs support with light meal prep, all household chores, shopping, running errands, bathing. dressing, getting ready for bed, driving to appointments and outings, monitoring her blood pressure, and managing her pain. She is still walking with a walker but has taken some falls, so needs someone to accompany her when she goes for walks or anywhere out and about. About the care needs: Looking for someone who has experience working with people with memory loss, that is independent and self directed, is a clear communicator, someone who can have a slow conversation and is a good listener. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
