About the job

About who needs care: Dad lives with me and my sister lives nearby. He has dementia, but he is still a gentleman. He uses a cane or a walker for mobility, but he doesn't wander. He needs help with showering and other personal hygiene issues. He toilets himself, but I'm sure he doesn't wipe effectively. I'd like help getting him showered once a week and also some companion time. He used to read and watch TV, but those things are getting too hard. He's losing his language. Now he mostly just sits. I'd like someone to do some activities with him, a couple of afternoons a week. my sister and I are doing the best we can, but it's no longer enough. About the care needs: Dad is very easy going. He will need someone patient, yet no-nonsense. He'll do what he's told to do, but if he doesn't want to do something he'll try to joke his way out of having to do it.. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
