About the job

About who needs care: My mother, while quite self-sufficient, has been starting to lose her eyesight more significantly in the last year and no longer is comfortable to drive, so the neighbor often drives her. She also suffers from chronic pain and uses a walker to get around the house both because of the pain and her legs sometimes failing her. Both of these factors alone make it difficult for her to do much housework, and trips out to the store can wipe her out. I currently live across the country and am not able to be there for her consistently and need some help making sure she's ok. She is also an avid trivia and word puzzle nerd and devoted to the Christian faith, and has always been quick to help others when she's been able. About the care needs: I'm not really sure how to answer this in totality. I do know she may need transport to appointments and the store - or maybe just to have someone run to the store or pharmacy for her, some assistance with housework (and possibly yard work?), and companionship. She has fallen a couple times and needs help getting up, but no specialized care needed. Someone who's gentle, but firm, and can work with a bit of stubbornness would be great. I know my mom would also appreciate someone she can share her faith with, if that's possible. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
