My 85-year-old father has recently lost weight, which has made him weaker and less able to do things for himself, like clean his cat's litter box and take his trash cans up the driveway for trash collection day. It's also caused him to be more confused, struggling to keep track of what time of day it is. His doctor and I believe this to be temporary and that he can get back to better health but he needs additional support right now. He also needs more regular companionship. His wife died a year ago and he feels very isolated. He's a great storyteller and would love to just have someone to talk to. I live in Seattle and am only able to get over to spend time with him once a week and I call him daily, but it's not enough and I know this is contributing to his decline in health.
