About the job

About who needs care: 77 yr old disabled Vietnam veteran. Pt is MS, stroke patient, paralyzed. Patient cant move or get up without hoyer lift. Fully dependent on caregiver for mobility and care. Caregiver would be helping wife, the full time caregiver of patient. Needs assistance with eating, drinking and coaching to prevent choking. Only has 2 teeth do easy soft diet and small bites. Patient is loved and pampered and is very sweet and appreciative ogmf his caregivers. Does well with coaching and needs extra assistance on fatigued days. Can use right arm and hand. Left is starting to get movement and needs help doing things like picking up items and moving them around. Pt cant move legs at all. We want a companion to watch movies, help change channels on the tv, sing with him to help speech improve, talk and share stories and build trust and friendship. We have 4 little dogs who are the middle of our universe and part of our healing as a family. Assist wife with care so I get a little rest and just having a caring trusted person in our home with us. I can do other things around the house while you assist with care of my sweet, adorable husband. I need to run errands and go shopping and looking for a caregiver that will fit into our family and be happy to play with and assist us in daily activities. Getting dressed and in the wheel chair with a hoyer lift assisting patient together with wife. We live in a single wide mobile in a 55+ park in south Everett near mukilteo and Lynnwood. Help with massaging in lotion on legs, feet, arms and shoulders. Okay with hot wheels for hand strengthening and coloring. With pts mobility issues we understand he has a lot of needs. We wont put that fully on the caregiver. We are looking for an extra person to assist and do the fob stuff and more interactive companionship while wife takes a break or runs an errands. And may ask for assistance in dressing and moving patient sometimes. Help with transferring to wheelchair as well. You will never do those activities by yourself. If you dont like dogs touching you or on your lap then its not going to be a fit for you. Two Very loving Yorkies and two long hair chihuahua mix fur babies. 18 year old kitty lives in her cat tree. About the care needs: This is new to us. We always took care of others and now we need help. We are private and want whoever comes to our home to be comfortable with us and comfortable in a single wide mobile. It needs improvements and right now its cluttered because I do everything 24/7. I need to figure out what help and gaming an extra person in our home to entertain my husband so he us having more fun and safe companionship besides just laying being cared for like they do in a hospital. Friendship and care provider assistant merged into one family. My husband is fragile and has ms and has a Foley catheter and incontinent since the strokes. He's stable but not a simple patient. But aside from the layers of mobility issues and need for assistance with all daily activities we are looking for someone to understand his needs and fragile state, plus need for companionship and our need to have another person around to support us and keep our family thriving in our home. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
