I'm looking for hands-on care for my mother in her 80s. My mother has Alzheimer's and my father is no longer able to help care for her. We need help with hygiene, bathing, dressing. Please be familiar with dementia and have patience and willingness to talk and meet her where she is, distract her off unpleasant thoughts with engaging activities. Potentially willing to do light housekeeping. Assistance with bathing, washing hair, styling hair, etc. is one of our requirements. We're looking for some help preparing meals. Looking for a caring and compassionate companion. Duties include transportation (doctor's appointments, errands, etc.). Preferences for a caregiver who is a non-smoker and CPR / first-aid trained. Again must be familiar with Alzheimer's and know how to manage sundowning and help provide my father some support.
