About who needs care: My dad has a form of Parkinson's called PSP. He does not have tremors. The disease has affected his ability to speak, and he has difficulty swallow and eating. He does have a PEG tube in his stomach for feedings. He can walk but his gait is very slow, and he loses his balance very easily so falling is something we deal with often. I need someone with patience as his movements are very slow. My mom is his full-time caretaker, and she is almost 80 and the stress of his care is taking a heavy toll on her. I need someone to sit with him, walk with him, feed him, and be with him 2 days a week. She is weak and is unable to catch him if he falls and cannot pull him up. Her exhaustion level is at its max. About the care needs: Kind and patient. They need to be able to lift him if he falls. He is not completely immobile. Someone who can sit quietly with him. He needs to be fed (via orally and in his PEG tube. Need to be able to bathe him. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
