About the job

About who needs care: My dad is active and outdoorsy. He is wheelchair bound with his electric scooter and needs safety supervision when outside. He mows the lawn in the summer and needs supervision in case he gets stuck. He needs someone to make meals for him that he can take out of the refrigerator to warm up if needed. He likes working on stuff in his shop but needs safety supervision. He has had a stroke and only has use of his left arm and hand, he was right handed. He has had multiple heart attacks and is diabetic. Hobbies and interests he likes to visit, music and watching tv. About the care needs: A good personality would be calm and supportive. No special skills needed and no lifting. Dad can transfer himself he just needs someone to redirect him regarding any safety issues such as trying to push the lawn mower if it gets stuck. In this case getting his wheelchair and letting him know to leave the lawnmower there is fine until we can pull it out and redirecting to something else like a movie or lunch. He's really in need of companionship as he is very lonely after my mom passed away 2 years ago. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
