My grandmother (Yvonne) was recently diagnosed with dementia. She owns her home that she shares with her long time partner - who is experiencing care giver fatigue, and he needs some help. She is pretty independent and doesn't need constant supervision (feel free to bring work, books, any personal activities you enjoy), but needs assistance with bathing, cooking (we will have food prepared), and prompting to use the restroom every couple of hours and to take medications. We want a companion to help her engage in activities throughout the day: walks around the house and garden, puzzle games, and casual conversation (she likes to babble on about things, she loves to be read to, likes to dance, and to look through photographs). Every other week, we will need 24/7 care. We are open to shifts being covered by a variety of caregivers.
