About the job

About who needs care: Some cognitive decline. Inconsistent need of physical assistance. Needs help with household tasks (cooking, laundry, cleaning) and companionship. Also, I live out-of-state, so need "eyes on" Dad, as he lives alone. About the care needs: Friendly but firm. When thinking clearly, Dad can be stubborn. He gets mellow when not thinking clearly or when he is in need of physical assistance (usually brought on by dehydration and weakness). His physician is concerned about weight loss due to poor eating habits. I am working on getting Meals on Wheels for him. If not, he needs a simple cooked meal each day, and he needs constant reminders to hydrate (with water). Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
