About who needs care: My mom, Gwen, is a 92 YO, BK amputee who uses a walker to get around the house and a wheelchair to attend events, shopping, doctor's appts, etc. She also has a colostomy bag which I usually change, but might occasionally need changing by caregiver. Gwen likes company and is a great conversationalist who is still completely 'with it.' She also enjoys playing cards and games. Ideal day includes getting up between 8:30-9:30, enjoying a bowl of homemade oatmeal and some applesauce. Lunch is usually very light, and I make dinner nightly. Even just a couple hours in the afternoon would be a help, although there may be times when we would need help longer. Thank you. About the care needs: Someone with an upbeat personality would be great. Gwen loves sports and was a HS coach for many years. Changing the colostomy bag is not difficult, the person just has to be willing. A female caregiver would be best, but not an absolute requirement. Services needed include: transportation, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
