About the job

Hello, I am going on vacation with my husband and children and need help with my grandmother while we are away. She is 82-year-old female, who is wheelchair dependent, incontinent, and has vascular dementia. She has good days and bad days but she is majority of the time very pleasant. A typical day would look like; AM shift - arrive, bring newspaper inside, and go upstairs to her room, you'll give her a bed bath and get her dressed for the day. She wears diapers. You would then transfer her from her bed to her wheel chair to our stair lift that brings her downstairs. After you bring her downstairs she likes to be taken to the kitchen to brush her teeth. You'll make her a morning tea, and then transfer her to her comfy chair in the living room. She will drink her tea and read the paper. At noon she will have her lunch, she likes the same thing everyday. It's juice, a sandwich, and grapes. She can feed herself she just needs you to prepare her lunch. She will read her book and eat and play on her computer. At 1 o'clock you're fine to go for the day. I'll have family coming through the afternoons to check on her and keep her company. PM shift, you will transfer her back to the chairlift to go upstairs, she will have to go #2 on the commode, she will need help wiping. She will then be transferred to the bed and you'll just put the news on for her. If you'd like to watch the news with her and converse about it she would like that very much. You're free to go at 8:30. I will not be in the state because I will be on vacation so I need someone who is reliable and will show up every day with no issue.
