I'm looking for hands-on care for my dad, 83 w/ moderate Alzheimers, who is suddenly bed bound after a fall. Experience with a Hoyer is necessary, as is proficiency in changing a brief on bed bound patient every 2-3 hours. One of your responsibilities will be giving bed bath once a day. My dad is fun-loving and sometimes likes to joke around, and if you treat him well, he'll be patient and appreciative. Ideally you can handle meal preparation and some light housekeeping as well. My mom and dad live together in thier home in Barrington, NH, which has a beautiful view looking over Mendums Pond. My mom (who has dementia) is very self-sufficient, still drives, can cook, and spends most of her time working in her many gardens. Looking to fill one to two regular scheduled shifts each week and join a great group of caregivers that I have found!
