About who needs care: Jim has no significant health issues other than memory. He is a very docile man, does not drive, chooses to stay in his bedroom pretty much 24/7. I have dogs and he does not comprehend the absolute need to not leave a gate open (my back yard is fenced and the house has a wrap around porch which also has a gate to the front yard). A gate left open invites a dog to get out, wander through the neighborhood, traffic issues. I simply cannot deal with that. About the care needs: At this point in his life he shows no interest in anything other than watching old western programs on tv. He is a quiet man, not prone to talk much, has poor appetite, no other significant health issues. He is a light smoker but does not smoke inside the house. Services needed include: companionship.
