About who needs care: She recently fell and fractured her shoulder trying to sit at the counter to eat. She has fallen 3 times recently so she mostly needs help with walking safely within the home. She does have a walker but will sometimes refuse/forget to use it. She is fairly independent and feeds herself and gets ready by herself. However, her memory is going and she forgets to take her pills despite all of our techniques. She likes to eat cereal, feed their 2 dogs, watch RFD TV, listen to music and practice her bible readings. Her ideal day is waking up, getting dressed for the day + her personal hygiene, eating breakfast and sitting in her recliner to watch tv or do word search until my mom gets home from work. We believe she has early dementia but that is not currently being treated as she is in fairly good spirits. We are mostly looking for a companion for her to sit with and ensure she moves around safely. Thank you :) About the care needs: Someone who doesn't mind a loud beagle + a very old yorkie who keep my gram company. They also have to tolerate (very loud) country music on the TV. Someone who is patient, slow moving, and Christian would be great for her. She likes puzzles, word search, and reading the bible. No specialized skills required other than help navigating her walker and occasionally helping clean up accidents. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
