About the job

About who needs care: He is 71 years old, 150lbs. Likes to watch football, big Ohio State fan. He will need his depend changed & shirt if he wets it from urine from the night before, transferring from bed to wheelchair. Push him to bathroom help with brushing his teeth, handing his meds to him one at a time, comb hair, wash face and hands. Transfer to toilet if needed. Push him to living room, transfer him to couch. Fix him coffee, juice then breakfast. Feed him, he will need a bathroom break or he will want to nap a little. He will let you know. Do household things such as make bed or change sheets if needed. Laundry such as sheets, towels, rags and t shirts/socks or if something needs to be washed, clean it. Sweep, mop (not everyday) clean dishes, ask while doing household duties if he needs anything or if he needs to go try to use the bathroom. Then prepare lunch, then assist in feeding. Then encourage him to exercise, help him with speech words, a list will be provided from the speech therapist. Then he will rest and watch tv and then you will transfer him to his bed and help with afternoon meds, and change his depend making sure he is clean and dry before transferring him to bed. Meanwhile make sure his phone is charged and in his reach. Ask him if he needs anything before leaving, Make sure everything is clean and in order ready for the next day. About the care needs: We would like to have a sweet, Christian, patient, honest, dependable, reliable person to care for him like he is your own dad or granddad. He likes to watch football, thats about the only hobbies he has. As far as skills we will need them to be able to handle 150lbs transfer. He can help out by holding onto you and standing somewhat, he only has one leg so he's relying on you a good bit. Youre his upper body strength. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
