About who needs care: He had a below the knee amputation recently on the left leg and will get a prosthesis in the November 2025 timeframe. In the interim we need assistance with transfers from a lift chair to a nearby bathroom, to a wheelchair, and near by bed, etc.. It would also be helpful to have some help with some light meal preparation/housekeeping. This individual is in dialysis at MGH Hospital three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A transport service picks him up and returns him to the house. Assistance is needed, getting him in a wheelchair and into the van and out of the van back into the house. We have all the necessary aids at home for mobility assistance. About the care needs: An individual who is empathetic and compassionate, and has strength to do mobility assistance for an amputee. Previous experience working with someone that has mobility issues and preventing falls would be helpful. His surgery occurred in May 2025. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
