I need a live-in home care provider for a friend who is in their 40's and has ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Important - experience with using lifts to transfer patients, managing and administering medication could eventually be required. Some light tidying up is involved. Assistance with bathing is one of our requirements. We're looking for someone who can go grocery shopping, prepare and serve meals, and clean up. Assistance with laundry is required. While companionship and social interaction are not necessary, it would be nice to find someone open to playing a game of cards every once in a while, etc. Running errands now and then could be desired. Preferences for a caregiver who is a non-smoker, comfortable with pets (1 indoor/outdoor cat) and experience working with disabled adults.
