About the job

Seeking care for 83-year-old woman with Alzheimer's. 20+ hrs/week with potential for full time. Kind and compassionate caregiver must be comfortable with 2 dogs in the house. Experience with dementia care preferred. Must be comfortable with strategies to distract and redirect. Patient has lost interest in hobbies and activities, such as puzzles or word games, but enjoys company, getting her hair and nails done, watching tv, and listening to music. Her primary caregiver is her husband. Your role will be supplemental to his to allow him a break. Services needed include: minimal meal preparation, light housekeeping/laundry, bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance. Patient is not incontinent. She can feed herself and use the bathroom but requires lots of verbal queues and some assistance. Uses a walker but must be closely attended.
