About who needs care: Barbara had a stroke on her left side in 2005, that has left her with some paralysis of her left hand and left leg/foot. She has a heart condition that also keeps her from having surgery to correct a uterine prolapse. Dementia is progressing but she does engage in conversation and activities such as bingo, word search, and coloring. She likes naps the best. Due to her stroke she started walking with a cane and at a slow pace. About 5 years ago dementia entered into her life and it is steadily progressing. She now creeps along with a walker and is fearful of falling. I help her with dressing, going to the bathroom, washing/cleaning herself, help with standing up, and doing all the other housework that she used to do, but that's fine. Services needed include: companionship, bathing, dressing, mobility assistance.
