About the job

About who needs care: I'm looking for someone to help care for my 70-year-old mom after a recent injury/surgery. She fell and broke her arm. We expect the surgery will occur next week and recovery will be 6-8 weeks. We need someone that can start right away. She lives alone in an apartment in Des Moines. She has some friends nearby but the closest family member is a 2 hour drive away. She needs help getting dressed in the morning, running errands and keeping groceries stocked, meal prep and cooking foods that can be easily reheated, and with light housekeeping. Someone that is available to come for 2-3 hours in the morning would be ideal. She'll need help 7 days per week to start, but the time commitment might decrease slightly as she starts to feel better. She is a very friendly and kind person! About the care needs: Someone that is friendly and reliable would be a great match Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
