About the job

About who needs care: My mom lives with my sister, who is out of town frequently. Mom has very bad short term memory and often forgets to take her meds. She also still drives, but gets lost occasionally and really should not be driving anymore. She has many doctor appointments for various things. She also has a small dog that has a heart condition and requires medication daily. All of this is too much for my mom to remember and do by herself. She has 5 children and we all help as much as we can, but it is becoming overwhelming. Mom does not want to move to a senior community, so we are going to try an asiisstant. About the care needs: We need someone who has a lot of patience and compassion. My mom loves to talk and it would be great for her to have someone who also likes long conversations. She doesn't really have any hobbies or interests, except spending time with her kids and with her dog Ginger. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
