About who needs care: Dementia/Alzheimer's Dresses, baths, restroom on their own. But, needs prompting, supervision and engagement. Typical day; Prompt getting up, proper clothing laid out, morning medicines, meal prep, engagement, stretching, small walks, company on the patio, games, making sure a meal is prepped before departure each day. Occasional weekend day of work The ideal candidate can also be available on planned occasions for overnight stays. Overnight is basically ensuring supervision and safety. Also, a candidate for care must be comfortable with a large dog being present (she's 2 years old house broken), but the doggy is also a real presence. About the care needs: Speak English very well and ability to speak Spanish. Experience with the ups and downs of Dementia. Patience. Genuine caretaker. Loves dogs. Meal prep ability. Responsible and accountable. This is not only a job. An elderly person requires daily care, medicine and nutrition. Able to assert in a kind way. Waking up, engagement, light exercise and stretching, short walks, nutritious snacks and small meal prep. Lastly supervise shower (setting water temp) and assuring safety. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
