About who needs care: Short-term memory loss is increasingly a problem. She needs assistance with dressing and bathing. Her hobby is watching TV (true crime, judge shows, game shows, old movies and church services). Her long term memory is still good and she enjoys reminiscing of her younger years. She needs coaxing to get out of bed in the morning, once she's up she goes to the bathroom, washes up and changes (with assistance). She then sits in front of TV for her breakfast and much of the remainder of the day. We like to get her to the bathroom every 3-4 hours and to take a stroll around to keep her legs moving. Her medical needs are fairly limited and she has a nurse visit weekly for maintenance/monitoring. About the care needs: Someone who might enjoy TV as much as she and not spend the entire visit on their phone. Light housekeeping is helpful to keep her areas neat and clean. We are looking for someone who is not timid with being assertive as needed to keep her on a routine. She can get a bit ornery at times (the dementia has its moods) , but for the most part she is very sweet and kind. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
