About who needs care: My father is visiting for two months and normally lives with my brother in Illinois. I am not sure at this point what kind of help he will need while he visits us. I travel for work and wanted to explore care options. He has short term memory loss. He remembers events from a long time ago, but not always what happened yesterday. He has has heart issues and blood sugar issues that are controlled with medications. He likes to make himself breakfast in the morning including decaf coffee. He sleeps a lot during the day according to my brother. He doesn't like to walk too far since he had a knee surgery. But he likes to leave the house and go out to eat or walk around the mall just to get out of the house. About the care needs: Bilingual with Spanish would be great. A happy person who can be conversational. Patient and compassionate. But also assertive since he likes to say no. No specialized skills that I can think of right now. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
