About the job

About who needs care: Heart attack approx 7 years ago, prostate surgery 3 years ago. Needs someone 24 hours, 7 days weekly. Walks with cane but very unsteady. Frail. Dressing, and undressing, meal prep, make grocery list for me, laundry, diaper changing, (incontinent) Should not be alone. Rises at 3 p.m. and goes to bed around 11 p.m. to midnight. Currently have 24 hour care, insurance only pays for one caregiver. We are trying to adjust hours so he has one and an independent at night. Would also need coverage for her occasionally. About the care needs: Polite, kind, understanding, not taking his grouchiness personally, intelligent, conscientious, likes their job, great attitude. Help dressing and undressing him, making meals, someone to be there with him. Has a life alert type thing he wears around his neck and lock box. He gets confused so know when to listen and when to placate him. :) I'm his POA and HIPPA and run errands, buy groceries, office/bill pay, am sometimes not able to be there for a day. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
