About the job

About who needs care: My dad lives by himself at a large apartment complex in Santa Monica. He deals with multiple health issues, mostly constant hip pain, back pain, arthritis, balance issues and has pre-dementia. He is a very lovely person and needs someone to hang out with him, do grocery shopping, possibly cook, help him keep track of his upcoming medical appointments and lift things (he isn't supposed to lift anything over 10 pounds). About the care needs: My dad is very smart and likes people who are engaging and clever. He also doesn't like being treated like a senior, so someone who can act more like his friend and assistant. He loves loves loves music and current events. He specifically likes old rock and roll and plays guitar as well. He was a civil attorney for over 40 years and had his own law firm, retiring 5 years ago. He needs someone to help with handiwork, running errands, making sure he doesn't fall, grocery shopping, and so on. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
