About who needs care: My 96-year-old father is a Veteran who still lives independently with my 87-year-old mother. His short term memory is declining and needs assistance with many things. He is visually impaired and uses a walker. He has kidney disease and takes medication daily. They need some help with meals (low sodium diet) and light housekeeping. I assist them 4-5 days a week and work but it's getting harder for me. It would be ideal to have a knowledgeable caregiver with a warm personality and positive attitude come and to lift their spirits and offer help in ways that will ease their minds. About the care needs: We are looking for someone with experience and enjoys helping an elderly person. They should be compassionate, patient and engaging as my father is getting quieter but truly appreciates conversation. It would be wonderful to have a Christian man or woman willing to offer care with some spiritual tenderness. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
