Key Responsibilities: Supervision and Staff Management: Assisting in the hiring, training, and supervision of childcare staff, ensuring proper staffing levels and adherence to center policies. Curriculum and Program Support: Helping to develop and implement age-appropriate activities, lesson plans, and educational programs, often working with lead teachers. Childcare and Safety: Ensuring the safety and well-being of children, monitoring their interactions, and maintaining a clean and healthy environment. Parent Communication: Building positive relationships with parents, addressing their concerns, and providing updates on their child's progress. Administrative Tasks: Assisting with record-keeping, documentation, and other administrative duties as needed. Compliance and Regulations: Ensuring the center operates in accordance with all relevant licensing and safety regulations. Daily Operations: Assisting with daily tasks such as opening and closing the center, managing schedules, and monitoring supplies. Required Skills and Qualifications: Typically requires experience as a childcare teacher and/or assistant director in a licensed childcare center. An associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field is often preferred. Ability to supervise and motivate staff, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive team environment. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, parents, and children. Some Spanish is a must! Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate records. Knowledge of Early Childhood Development Understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education. Commitment to Safety: Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for children.
