About Elyssa

I am a 25-year-old alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh, with a BS in Psychology. Having recently relocated to New York, I am beginning my search for work with loving families in the area. I have worked as a Child Development Specialist at a residential treatment facility for the past two years. This was an incredibly demanding job, caring for 25 young women who have suffered some degree of trauma. I am intensely passionate about advocating for and empowering these young women. I also have three years of experience as a tutor/mentor and summer camp counselor for at-risk children at a local YMCA. Furthermore, I have taken various courses in child development and child psychology. I thoroughly enjoy working with children and have plenty of experience looking after those from the ages of newborn to young adult. I have roughly 12 years of paid babysitting experience, starting in middle school as a mother's helper. I am looking forward to experiencing new child-care opportunities.
