About Carol

I have a Bachelor's degree in elementary education and a graduate level early childhood endorsement. I have taught preschool up through pre-first grade and I truly enjoy young children. It is rewarding to see the joy and wonder of how young children interpret the world around them. I delight in being able to help foster a love of learning in them. I believe that children learn best through hands on experience and by using as many of their senses as possible. I appreciate seeing how they respond when exposed to different types of music, arts and crafts, outside activities, playtime, cooking and early math concepts, science and reading. I have found with my own children as well as those I have cared for that interacting daily with books and other printed materials greatly increases their reading ability. I am married and have two sons of my own who are now 12 and 14. I have also watched other children including an infant and her brothers ages 2 and 4 and a set of 2-year-old twin girls. My most recent experience with children has been working as a teacher assistant in City Schools for the past three years. My strong work ethic and character have resulted in very positive references from the families I have cared for as well as the school system. I am willing to renew my CPR certification and First Aid training before beginning any childcare position. Also I have reliable transportation.
