How to Make a Hot Dog Costume
As a part of the Care.com Halloween costume series, learn how to quickly transform your child into a hot dog that looks (almost) good enough to eat.

Hey, who cares if it's October? Dress your child in everyone's favorite summertime treat to celebrate Halloween!
Materials:
- Red felt (long enough to fit the height of your child's body)
- Tan sweatshirt
- Scissors
- Yellow fabric paint
- 8-inch x 11-inch sheet of white felt
- Black marker
- Tan sweatpants
- Red winter hat
- Hot glue gun (or safety pins)
Step 1: Make the hot dog wiener by cutting a rectangle with rounded edges out of red felt -- this should be tall enough to cover the majority of your child's body.
Step 2: Make a swirling pattern down the red felt with yellow fabric paint to mimic mustard.
Step 3: On a sheet of white felt, write "Hot Dogs $1.00" in big bold letters with black marker, or any other cute phrase you would like. Attach to hot dog wiener with hot glue or safety pins.
Step 4: Put on outfit: Tan sweatshirt, tan sweatpants and red winter hat. Using safety pins, attach the red felt hot dog to the front of the sweatshirt so it hangs vertically.
