Christmas is once again upon us and along with it a peak season for care workers. Whether it’s the office-party-parents needing babysitters after work or Christmas-in-the-Alps families who need house sitters, someone to look after Snoopy the dog, or an domiciliary care to keep Granny company while you’re away, there are sleighs full of cash to be made giving Mum a hand.

The best place to find these jobs is Care.com, your go-to site for all care jobs. The largest global care marketplace in the world, Care.com sends Adzuna its stocking-filling latest jobs on a daily basis.

There is no-one quite like Mum, but if you fancy yourself as the perfect substitute this festive season you could earn on average £76 per day, up £23 from the summer months. Top paying nanny jobs seem to cater for a penchant for German Speaking Nanny Mcphees in London, where, if you fit the bill, you could bag a Christmas bauble-busting £117 per day. At the other end of the spectrum, part-time nannies in Durham pocket £7 per hour. In lieu of the latest Royal announcement from the Palace, nannies fit for a Prince or Princess can expect to bank up to a staggering £130 per day in Kensington, London. Let us not forget that taking a job caring for the nation’s elderly, nearest and dearest could also earn you £106 per day with over 5,000 positions advertised this winter.

For the Cinderellas out there, donning the golden yellow marigolds this winter could earn you a potential £84 per day. There are over 3,000 domestic and cleaning jobs up for grabs across the UK but not everyone is offering top dollar. Cleaners in Bristol and Newcastle can earn a bargain £43 per day whereas Cleaners in Essex could pocket £85 per day, £20 a day more than hoovering under the Christmas Tree in South West London.

Man’s best friends are, in many cases, just as important as any family member, especially at Christmas. Interestingly there is a significant pay gap our canine and feline animal lovers are willing to offer. Dog owners will shell out £66 per day for someone to take Lady and the Tramp for a walk. It seems however that our feline friends demand a higher quality of care at £93 per day.
