I'm 23, Latvian, and a Postgrad Zoology student at UofG. I love crafts, reading, and nature.
My brother is 10 years younger than me, so when I was a teen, I was responsible for watching him while our parents were busy. While I have experience handling him as a baby, most of my experience comes from babysitting him from age 4 or so. Our time together included all kinds of activities, both sports and intellectual, feeding him, and sometimes putting him to bed. Since he started school, I've also helped him with homework. I have also babysat the neighbor's kids, who are about the same age as my brother. In Glasgow, during my third year, I babysat a 5-year-old Catalan boy a couple times a week. I had to take him to and from the nursery, give him lunch and put him down for a nap. Sometimes I'd have to babysit his brothers, too. I really enjoyed the time spent with the kids and was proud to see how much they learned in English during our time together. In my fourth year I babysat Gabi (3/4) and Emmanuel (10). With Gabi we read books in Hillhead Library and with Emmanuel played games at their flat. We took walks as well. It was tremendous to see Gabi's improvement in reading during the months we were together.
