5 Birthday Party Ideas for Preschoolers

One of my favorite things is throwing parties and getting all of the kids together for a big bash together. However, I always tend to have a really difficult time picking what the part will be focused on and what we need to make everything come together. I sat down the other day because I tend to plan all the parties for our family and the cousins.

Camping Birthday Party

It can be an absolute blast to have a camping themed birthday party for kids, especially if the weather is nice. You can set up a tent either inside or outside and even have a teepee! Favors and treats can include things like banana boats, s’mores, and roasting hot dogs on a stick. Create a fire and sing fun songs around the fire with a banjo or guitar.

You can pick up the teepee specifically for the party but then use it afterwards for hours and ours of imagination and fun playtime.

Create a s’mores bar with different flavors of chocolate and different types of marshmallows, it can be a lot of fun for kids to create their own combinations and flavors. Even send little s’mores kits home with ever participant.

Outer Space Birthday Party

If your kids love the stars, aliens and planets, an outer space party may be just the ticket for a birthday party. You can get a bouncy house shaped like the moon, play laser tag, and watch movies all around the theme outer space. You can even take the kids to the planetarium for a fun outing and adventure!

These cupcake decorations are a fun and festive addition to help tie the food in with the party’s theme.

Candyland Birthday Party

Sugary sweets and sugary treats everywhere can definitely cause an energy rush for kids, but you can also make a Candyland party a lot of fun.

Create a candy bar with sweets and treats, and have the Candyland board game. You can even have skewers of sweets that you can order or put together yourself.

Underwater Birthday Party

Whether it’s mermaids or sharks, everyone loves underwater creatures. Create a magical underwater wonderland in your home or take a visit to an aquarium.

You can watch movies like The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo, even decorate your child’s cake with a topper like the one below.

Superhero Birthday Party

Invite your child’s friends over for a special superhero birthday party where they can all wear capes and masks. Even let the kids pick their own super power and create magic wands.

You can even get the birthday boy or a girl a special customized cape they can wear around the party.
