My mother has been at Sunrise Oakland Hills for 10 years. I could not be happier with the care she has gotten there. Top 3 things for me are 1. The Staff - these folks really know how to take care of people who may have limited memory and/or physical challenges. They are patient and competent, and treat my mother with dignity. I want my mother's caretakers to know who she is. Sunrise has been fabulous in continuity of care - there has been surprisingly little turnover in staff in the 10 years my mother has been at Sunrise. She has had the same set of caretakers for several years at a time. The nursing staff is wonderful, and has offered a good bridge for us with her doctors. 2. Communication - Sunrise gives clear, fast, effective communication with me about any issues that come up. 3. Fee Structure - from the first day, I knew what we were being charged for and, most importantly, how fees might change with change in my mother's health. I like the "no surprises" aspect of how care levels and fees are communicated and discussed. Sunrise has been a blessing for our family in what is a challenging part of life.
