The Nook

The Nook was founded by Kim Harmon, a teacher with a MEd and BA in Integrated Language Arts along with over a decade of educational experience. At The Nook, the goal is to provide a personalized, standards-based educational experience for all childrenthat enables each to grow and thrive. The Nook utilizes the Tadpoles system, which allows parents to view photos of their children in real time and provides electronic daily sheets and other communication. Ms. Sarah is your child's first exposure to formalized education. Her hands-on, comprehensive approach is a perfect beginning to a Montessori-style education. Infants will recieve quality one-on-one care that includes sign language and Spanish, as well as lessons that will specifically enagage your baby's early learning capabilities. At two, children enter Ms. Kim's preschool class. Here, children increase their exposure to phonics, early STEM, and social studies. In addition to thematic centers that emphasize concepts such as early reading skills, number order, and the scientific method, children begin a daily hour and a half structured preschool time. Once children are 3 1/2, they begin an even more rigorous pre-kindergarten program.
