WELCOME! I own Rockinghorse Home Day Care which has been offering state licensed care to children 6 weeks to Pre-K in a small group environment.

PHILOSOPHY ~ Children are individuals with their own unique qualities. With a soft approach I look for ways to encourage that unique quality showing respect to the child and teaching them to respect others. By offering interaction between varying age groups; each age group benefits. Infants strive to achieve skills toddlers have mastered and toddlers learn the skills of teaching and nurturing younger ones. INCENTIVES ~ Parents Night Out: So our clients can enjoy a night out for some quality time; we offer extended care at no charge. WHY I BECAME A LICENSED FCCP (Family Child Care Provider) ~ With a desire to be home during my sons early years in life, I chose to leave the corporate world where I was a Health and Safety Manger for a major company and follow in the footsteps of my mother who also operates a successful child care. ROUTINE ~ I believe that a good daily routine consists of a balance of stimulating activities, freedom to explore, healthy eating and rest. A routine also gives children a sense of security which fosters a learning environment and builds self-esteem and social skills. NUTRITION ~ I believe that food is an experience and given the opportunity, children enjoy exploring various flavors, textures and colors. I offer healthy snacks and lunch in our toddler program. I am not opposed to sweets; but keep those to a minimum. EDUCATION ~ WestEd - PITC (Program for Infant/Toddler Care), Dept. of Education - Brain Smart, Child Nutrition and Health and Safety. SAFETY ~ For 25+ years I've maintained CPR/First Aid certification. In closing, I take seriously the role I play in caring for children and the impact I have on them.
