I want to be one of those people for you and your child!

My name is Shayna V. and I am an in home family childcare provider. I take great pride in my profession as a childcare provider and not simply a "babysitter". I am continually working to improve my knowledge and skills through continued education. I am certified in Infant, Child and Adult CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration and Universal Precautions.

A little bit about my educational philosophy:
I believe that children learn by doing. Whether it is an infant learning to reach for an object or a preschooler learning their ABC's, children need hands-on activities to explore the world around them. With that in mind, I believe that it is my responsibility to provide as many educational experiences as possible. Here at Footprints Daycare we participate in to develop fine and large motor skills, language, numbers, reading, positive self-image and so much more. I also offer daily preschool activities to prepare your child for Kindergarten. This is program is included in my fees and is not additional cost to you.

I also believe that good nutrition is one of the basic building blocks for education. I have a B.S. in Health and Human Performance with an Emphasis in Health and Wellness Promotion. What this means for you and your child is that you can rest assured that I will be providing the very best nutrition and physical activity to nurture your child's physical development as well as their mental, emotional and social development. I will provide primarily all-natural or organic foods as part of the meal plan.
