My mother stayed at Carillon House for a month for rehab after orthopedic surgery. She had a great CNA that took good care of her when it was her shift. She had great physical therapists that were very kind, patient, and helpful to her. The food was good. The nursing staff was awful. Much of the time, they did not keep up with her pain med schedule, even when my mom would call and remind them it was time for her meds. They were often hours late, causing her lots of pain. More than one nurse told us that they thought she had already had her meds hours before, when she actually hadn't. Then they told me that they were wrong because they had read the computer report incorrectly, not knowing the difference between a "scheduled" med, and a med actually given. The only reason Mom continued to stay here is because her insurance covered it. We will be changing Mom's insurance as soon as possible to a company that covers a better facility for rehab. I would give Carillon 4-5 stars for the rehab, and 0-1 star for nursing.
