About Xiaoyan

I have taught Mandarin for six years. I worked as a tutor for a language company in Manhattan and as a pre-k assistant teacher at an international school in New Jersey. I am currently a Ph. D. student majoring in school psychology at Fordham University and a Mandarin teacher at an elementary school from Junior kindergarten to fifth grade in the Upper East Side. I am also an executive function tutor to help individuals plan, monitor, and execute their goals. Skilled in using empathy and other emotional intelligence skills to ensure a positive learning environment for younger kids. Leverages student feedback to create dynamic lesson plans, and prepare activities that address students' strengths and weaknesses.
