About Victoria

Worked with Jumpstart as an AmeriCorps member who provided individualized attention and positive adult-child relationships to prepare children attending preschool in low-income neighborhoods for school success. Implemented early childhood curriculum, supported family involvement promoted children's language and literacy skills. Collaborated with a team of 5 Corps members to plan twice-weekly in-classroom activities for a class of 20 preschool children. Received training and professional development in early childhood theory and practice, language and literacy development, leadership skills, and communication with families. Also served 1700 hours with City Year, of academic, behavioral, and attendance interventions at an academically failing middle school. Created and implemented English Language Arts lesson plans weekly for 15 7th grade students. Additionally, I have worked as a substitute teacher for the past 3 years.
