I have been a tutor to both peers and younger students throughout my high school and college careers. I enjoy teaching and working with students. I am comfortable tutoring in all elementary-high school core subjects (math, reading/literature, science, social studies) and some additional subjects including Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. One of my long-term tutoring positions has been with a local DC organization that focuses on bringing students up to grade level in math and reading. I worked one-on-one with a student to create an individualized curriculum that improved his skills and enjoyment of mathematics by strengthening his understanding of basic concepts and using that knowledge to introduce more complex topics.
